HalloWeekends 2026 dates and what is new
HalloWeekends runs September 17 through November 1, 2026 on select days and nights, with the haunted mazes and scare zones opening in the evening and the family-friendly daytime events running earlier. Cedar Point has announced new haunts for 2026, including the DIABLO: The Infernal Path maze. Operating days and hours change week to week, so check Cedar Point's HalloWeekends page and buy tickets online before you go.

Why The Cedar works for HalloWeekends
Late nights are easy. Check-in is fully self-service: you get a personal door code before arrival and let yourself in whenever the park lets you out. No front desk, no lobby, no lines.
Rooms for the whole crew. 12 individually themed rooms that sleep two to four: a movie room, a stargazer's retreat, a captain's quarters. Every room has a private bathroom, free Wi-Fi, a smart TV and a coffee maker for slow mornings.
Everything else you want. Free parking at your door, dogs welcome in every room, and Tique's Bar on our own waterfront for a drink before or after the park (check the bar's current fall hours).

HalloWeekends tips
Layer up. It is Lake Erie in October. Evenings on the peninsula are windy and 15 degrees cooler than they look on the forecast.
Make a weekend of it. Fall is the best time of year on the bay: the Marblehead Lighthouse in autumn color, the Lake Erie wineries, and a quieter downtown Sandusky. Our things-to-do guide has the full list, and the island ferries still run on reduced fall schedules.

How far is The Cedar from Cedar Point?
About a 10-minute drive to the Cedar Point causeway. Close enough to rope-drop the park, come back mid-afternoon for a break on the bay, and return for the evening mazes.
Can I check in after the park closes?
Yes. Check-in is self-service with a personal smart-lock code that works any time after 3:00 PM, so a late night at HalloWeekends is no problem.

Is The Cedar a good fit for families?
Yes for families who like character and a bay view. Rooms sleep two to four, with private bathrooms and free parking at your door. It is a former motor court, so expect compact rooms with exterior doors rather than hallways and a lobby.
