Waterfront view
A full, open view of Sandusky Bay from your room — sunrise over the water with your morning coffee. Cozy and bright, and steps from the front lounge, where there's a desk with a lake view for laptop work.
Best for: one person who wants the view.
Rooms 7–12 · Back building
Extra space
Bigger rooms on the quiet courtyard side, each with a small dining table — room to spread out, eat in, and work at a real table. Rooms 7–10 sleep up to four. The bay is a short walk across the property.
Best for: more room, eating in, or two people sharing.
Same price and same everything-included either way. Two waterfront rooms connect for two-person crews.

A full community kitchen is on the way
We're building a full shared kitchen in the middle building, between the front rooms and the back rooms. Cook a real dinner, keep a week of groceries cold, and leave the takeout menus in the drawer.

Stocked with cookware and dishes — no need to bring your own.
Included in your monthly rate — no extra fee.
Shared with The Cedar's other guests. Moving in before it opens? Your room's kitchenette covers the basics until then.

Firelands Regional Medical Center is a 10-minute drive. Thirteen-week contracts fit perfectly — book three months, extend if you renew, no lease hassle.

Blocks of rooms, direct billing
NASA Armstrong, Cedar Point, Kalahari, and regional energy and utility projects are all close. We'll take a block of rooms for a crew, provide a W-9, and bill your company directly.

Monthly Stay Questions
What does $1,100 a month include?
Everything: the furnished room, electric, heat and air conditioning, water, high-speed WiFi, fresh linens and towels, access to the on-site laundry room, an optional room refresh every two weeks, free parking at your door, use of the waterfront seating, and the community kitchen once it opens in late December. There's a $500 refundable deposit and a $45 credit check that comes off your first month's rent. No utility bills, no surprises.
Is there a kitchen?
Each room has a kitchenette with a mini-fridge, microwave, and coffee maker — but no stove or oven in the room. A full community kitchen opens in late December in the middle building, between the front and back rooms, with a stove and oven, full-size refrigerator, dishwasher, and cookware and dishes. It's shared by guests and included in your rate. Until then, Rayz on the Bay is a two-block walk, and downtown Sandusky's restaurants are 10 minutes away.
How long can I stay?
Minimum 30 nights, then month-to-month. Monthly stays are available through spring; all monthly stays end by June 1, when The Cedar returns to nightly summer bookings.
Can I bring my dog?
Yes. Dogs are welcome in every room — just tell us about them on the inquiry form.
Do you work with travel nurse agencies and housing coordinators?
Yes. We can provide a W-9, direct billing, and blocks of rooms for crews. Two of our waterfront rooms connect, which works well for two-person teams. Housing coordinators: email hello@stayatthecedar.com and we'll send a photo pack and rate sheet.
How do I book a monthly stay?

We confirm availability, email you a screening invitation (credit, background, and eviction check — $45, which comes off your first month's rent), send a simple month-to-month agreement to sign online, and email your personal door code for move-in day. No front desk — you let yourself in.
Is there an application fee?
The only upfront cost is a $45 credit check (credit, background, and eviction) — and if you take the room, it comes off your first month's rent. There's no fee to inquire and nothing added on top. Results usually come back within a few hours. If a company is booking and paying for its crew, the company signs the agreement instead and individual screening isn't needed; we can provide a W-9.
